How do clear the Canon E07 message?

This message will commonly appear after changing an ink cartridge. To clear it we simply need to ensure that one each of the black and colour cartridges are installed and that they are installed in the correct place. Please take the following steps:
1.    Open the lid of the printer and wait for the cradle to move to the cartridge replacement position.
2.    Remove both cartridges from the printer.
3.    Examine the labels to ensure one is a black (PG-37/PG-40/PG-50/PG-510/PG-512/PG-540/PG-540XL) and one is colour (CL-38/CL-41/CL-51/CL-511/CL-513/CL-541/CL-541XL).
4.    Locate the correct slot for the colour and the black cartridge using indications on the printer or cartridge cradle.
5.    Re-install both cartridges into the correct slot.
The message will now disapear leaving you to continue printing. If however the message remains it may be that one or more of the cartridges has been miss-labelled by the manufacturer. To confirm if the cartridge is colour or black simply flip it over and look for a small metalic plate located on the underside. A colour cartridge will have a square plate with three slits in it and a black will have a single elongated slot.

If the above solution has not resolved your error, please contact Canon authorised service facility.
